
Dr. Scott Sauer was born and raised in Amarillo, TX. After graduating with a BS in Chemistry from West Texas State University in 1986, Dr. Scott attended Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Scott received his dental degree in 1990 and moved to Wellington, TX where he practiced for 4 ½ years. Dr. Scott then returned to Amarillo in January 1995 when he acquired the private practice of Dr. Howard Cassada. In September 2003, Dr. Scott and Dr. Eddy merged their practices to form Shemen Dental Group, LLP.
Dr. Scott maintains membership in many dental organizations including the
American Dental Association , the
Texas Dental Association and the Panhandle District Dental Society. Dr. Scott also maintains membership in the
Academy of General Dentistry , the
Texas Academy of General Dentistry and the Panhandle Academy of General Dentistry. In addition, he is a member of the
Academy of Computerized Dentistry and is a sustaining member of the
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry .
Dr. Scott is dedicated to continuing his dental education. In the past year he has attended more than 100 hours of advanced training in various aspects of dentistry, although his focus has been primarily on cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Scott was recently asked to join the faculty of Dentistry by Design, located in San Diego, CA.
Dentistry by Design trains dentists in advanced techniques of computerized CAD-CAM dentistry using the
CEREC system by Sirona, Inc. Cerec makes it possible to produce highly esthetic dental restorations in a single appointment. Before Cerec, it was not possible to produce such restorations in less than two appointments.
Dr. Scott married his college sweetheart, Kim Gonzalez, in June of 1986. They have three children, Preston (16), Andrew (15), and Elizabeth (12). Dr. Scott and his family enjoy snow skiing, water skiing, hunting and mountain biking. They also enjoy spending time watching the various sports that their children are involved in. They are actively involved in their church,
Messiah’s House where Dr. Scott plays bass guitar in the worship band.
