    Clay Camp for Kids

    Creative Fun for the Family

If your kids are suffering from boredom blues this summer you might want to let them take a spin at becoming more creative.  The Amarillo Art Institute hosts a number of camps for kids throughout the summer.
We stopped by their Clay Camp and found out it's getting rave reviews from the students.  8-year-old Chacye Miller ditched her summer swimming lessons to sign-up, "I like when you get to get your hands dirty."  Chacye is just one of several kids who are opting for a different kind of summer camp.
Instructor Nannette Womack says it's a really good way for your kids to explore the arts and have fun.  She says it's also good exercise, "with clay they not only are thinking about what they're doing, it's a very physical process as well.  They're using their bodies to get totally involved."
Here are a few more camps coming to the Art Institute this summer.

    Art Camp:   July 14-17, 1pm-3pm & July 21-24, 10am-Noon
