AMARILLO -- The winter weather season is starting and so far it's been pretty mild.

If you don't like a lot of snow, you're in luck this year.

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service say you can expect that trend to continue.

This winter will have above average temperatures and a higher change of precipitation.

Experts say despite the mild season, you still need to be prepared in case of a snow or ice storm.

If you're on the road, you need to be extra careful.
