Reported by: David Martinez Tuesday, Jan 6, 2009 @05:22pm CST AMARILLO -- Baptist Saint Anthony's is announcing layoffs.
They say they're eliminating forty-seven positions because of tough economic times. BSA says they put a lot of thought into the cuts and these layoffs make up less than two percent of their workforce. Overall, thirty-three hundred people work at BSA. Five of those positions that have been eliminated are registered nurses but BSA says those employees were not involved in bedside care. It's important to note that those employees who's position has been eliminated will get the chance to move to other positions. Severance packages will also be given out and BSA will be giving transition assistance to those employees who do not qualify for a different position within the hospital. We made several calls to Northwest Texas Hospital to see how they were going to make any cuts. Unfortunately we didn't get a response. |
