Reported by: Chris Martin Monday, Jan 12, 2009 @09:31pm CST There's more to buying a home these days than just location-location-location. With energy prices soaring those in the market are shopping for "green homes." They want houses that save money as well as the environment. Energy-Star rated appliances also make a difference. So too does radiant barrier insulation. It can reduce the temperature in your attic by up to 15 degrees. A high-efficiency heating and cooling system combined with tight construction and weather-stripping means still more savings. Adding "low flow" showerheads would make a home a "green buyer's" dream. Realtors say "green" isn't just a feature anymore. It's becoming a requirement for more and more buyers.
