Reported by: Andy Justus Monday, Apr 6, 2009 @09:43pm CDT This week's Teacher of the Week goes above and beyond, literally. Tim Bryant, his kids call him Br. Beanstalk, stands tall at all times. The 3rd grade teacher measures out at 6'11". Not bad if you're a starting center for the Dallas Mavericks. The kids don't mind looking up, but they love listening up. Bryant plays the guitar in his free time and has learned to work it into lessons. Tanna Maxwell explains why her teacher is a difference maker, "Mr. Bryant writes songs to help us learn the meaning of words and direct quotations."
Mr. B. says he's living a dream, "This is my life's work. I want to change the world from right here in the classroom." How's it working out for the titan of teaching? "It's paying off. It's a good thing." We're always looking for nominations. All we need to know is the teacher's name, where they teach and what makes them so special. You can do that here on the website. We honor our teacher of the week every Monday. |
