Reported by: Ashley Alderman Tuesday, May 5, 2009 @10:02pm CDT AMARILLO -- A car rally drove through Amarillo today, bringing with it a handful of celebrities
Dennis Rodman, Johnny Knoxville, Tony Hawk and the Real Housewives of Orange County were all spotted at the Big Texan and other places around town. The Gum Ball 3000 is basically a group of people driving more than a hundred exotic sports cars across the country. Their next stop is Dallas. It started Friday in L.A. and will end in Miami. Chris Anderson is a twittering fiend. He likes to keep up with his favorite celebrities like Tony Hawk. When Hawk tweeted he'd left a skateboard in a dumpster at John Stiff Park, Chris decided it was time to make his move. The problem was that he was across town at the Big Texan hoping to catch a peek at Hawk himself, so he called a friend. Brad Ingram found the board in the dumpster. The pair says when they got to the park there were a few kids who said they'd been skating with Hawk, but didn't know anything about the treasure in the trash. Chris sent a twit-pic to Hawk who sent a message back congratulating the pair on their find. Chris says he's received hundreds of messages from people wondering what he plans to do with the board. Brad is one of the youth pastors at Hillside Christian Church. He says he'll give it away at a youth event there coming up on May 13th. The event is open to anyone in middle school and high school. It starts at 6:30 p.m. at the church. |
