Reported by: News Release Tuesday, Jul 14, 2009 @12:08pm CDT AMARILLO -- The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine has established a Center of Excellence for Geriatric Scholarship, Training and Faculty Development at the Amarillo, Lubbock and Permian Basin campuses. Stephanie C. McClure, M.D., FACP, Mirick-Myers Endowed Chair in Geriatrics and Division Chief of Geriatrics at the Amarillo Campus, heads up the center. In the notification memorandum, Steven Berk, M.D., dean, School of Medicine, Lubbock, stated the he looks forward to learning more about the continued progress and success as the plan is implemented to develop a viable center focused on geriatric medicine. He added that his expectations are high that significant collaborations, extramural funding, teaching and scholarship will be generated by the centers efforts. TTUHSC is now in a position to strengthen and expand geriatrics training and health care across the TTUHSC system. |
