Thursday, Oct 8, 2009 @08:47am CDT ALBUQUERQUE --- The 9th New Mexican has died from H1N1 and now hospitals are activating their pandemic flu plan.
A healthy 28-year-old man from Lea County was the latest victim to die from complications of the H1N1 virus. Presbyterian Hospital and Medical Group and University of New Mexico Hospital say they have seen a spike in flu patients coming in for treatment. Hospital officials say routine appointments may have to be pushed back so staffers can help with the flu patients. They ask unless you have serious symptoms, to call your doctor before coming to the emergency room. (Copyright 2009 by VERTEXNews/Newsroom Solutions) |
