Wednesday, Oct 28, 2009 @09:55am CDT PLANO --- A Plano woman who was supposed to protect animals from cruelty has now been sentenced for letting her own puppy starve to death at her apartment near West Parker and Independence Parkway.
Alicia Marie Martin was ordered to jail for four days in November and for two weekends in December. She'll also pay a 500-dollar fine and be on probation for three years. Martin had been a supervisor at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Texas. She was fired after the animal cruelty case came to light. In March, Martin's five-month-old German Shepherd mix was found dead from starvation. (Copyright 2009 Newsroom Solutions, LLC) |
