Reported by: Aaron D. Langston Monday, Nov 2, 2009 @06:22pm CST AMARILLO - The U.S. Supreme Court denied the appeal for a stay of execution from a convicted murderer from Amarillo on Monday. John Lezell Balentine won a stay from the state in September just hours before he was scheduled to be put to death. Balentien was found guilty in 1998 in the shooting deaths of Mark Caylor, Kei Geyer, and Steven Watson.
