    AMARILLO---Her parents were addicted to drugs and later died of AIDs. She was left homeless on the streets of New York, but Monday afternoon Liz Murray brought her amazing story back to Amarillo. Her testimony inspired a movie called "Homeless To Harvard." Murray was able to graduate high school and get a full ride to the Ivy League school. For the second year in a row, she inspired hundreds who showed up for the annual "Beans and Cornbread" benefit at the Civic Center. Last year they raised over $55 thousand. That money goes to help homeless people in our area.
