Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @08:42am CST FORT WORTH --- The Oracle of Omaha is picking up another Cowtown corporate giant.
Warren Buffett's Berkshire-Hathaway is acquiring the rest of Fort Worth-based Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad that it does not already own. The 44-billion-dollar deal is the largest acquisition ever for Berkshire-Hathaway. Buffett has long had an affinity for Fort Worth. He already owns Justin Boots and Acme Brick. And just last month, Berkshire-Hathaway held corporate meetings in Fort Worth. (Copyright 2009 by VERTEXNews/Newsroom Solutions) |
