Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @08:42am CST AUSTIN --- Texas voters will head to the polls today for the November Constitutional Amendment election.
Voters will decide on eleven proposed amendments put forth by the 81st Legislature. One proposition on the November ballot would authorize the state to use money on veterans hospitals within Texas, while another focuses on eminent domain, limiting the legislature's authority to grant the power of eminent domain to an entity. Another amendment would authorize the financing for the acquisition by municipalities and counties of buffer areas or open spaces adjacent to a military installation. The acquisition would prevent the encroachment or construction of roadways, utilities or other infrastructure to protect the mission of the military installation. More information on the propositions can be found at www.votexas.org. (Copyright 2009 by VERTEXNews/Newsroom Solutions) |
