The site ranked the 40 largest metropolitan areas on factors such as dirty air and water and Superfund hazardous waste dumps. Atlanta received the dubious distinction of being number one, followed by Detroit, Houston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Los Angeles. The cleanest city was Las Vegas.
