Friday, Nov 13, 2009 @09:12am CST (Rendon) -- A Tarrant County woman's DNA has been linked to three infants whose remains were found beneath and near a Rendon trailer home.
Experts say the DNA tests prove Rachel New is the mother of the girl and two boys. She is now locked up on charges of tampering with evidence but detectives are reviewing their case to see if more serious charges are justified. Because the remains were mostly skeletal, it's been difficult for the medical examiner to say if they were stillborn or killed after birth. The DNA tests have not been able to determine who the father is. Rachel New shared the mobile home with her brother, Paul New. Sheriff's investigators have not ruled him out as a suspect.
