(Dallas) -- A Democrat is bowing out of the race for Texas governor and is asking another to jump in.
Tom Schieffer says he struggled to gain support.
He's endorsing Houston Mayor Bill White for the Democrat's nomination.
But White has said he plans to run for Kay Bailey Hutchison's senate seat.
White says he'll decide whether to switch races by the end of next week.
