This is a hunting experience that our whole family enjoyed together!  That's right...even our 6mth old little girl got to join her daddy and BIG brother on this trip!  My husband had gone out early on this particular day and saw a BIG one "too far away", he finally decided by about noon that he'd better get home and help out with the kids before I made him sleep outside with the dogs!  They had BOTH been sick the enitre week and he knew I needed some help!  He got home and told me about "the big one that got away," and I sugessted that we take a drive and the kids would probably fall fast asleep in the car and he could check just ONE more time before the end of the weekend.  We drove out to his hunting lease (about an hours drive) with one sleeping lil angel and one rowdy 3 year old.  My husband turned around to get our daughter out of her car seat and I just happend to look down at the meadow and there was a buck!  I took over our daughter and he slowly stepped out of the car, with our 3 year old chattering away in his seat, my husband crept closer and took a shot!  For the first time ever hunting with him, I saw the entire thing, I saw the hit, the buck fall, my husbands excitement on his face and our 3 year old cheering in the backseat!  He got back in the car and we waited for a little while before he headed out, cleaned him and brought him back to show our son.  Our son was so excited that "me and daddy got a deer!"  Since we were in our car, my husband had to drive back to our house, get his pickup and make that drive back to get his prize!  I think he finally crawled into bed at about midnight that night, but he says it was worth it...getting the buck and having us all there to share it with made it that way!  My son STILL talks about that day several weeks later!  I know my husband can't wait until that day comes when it can be just him and his son, and watching his lil guy get his first buck!
