Fall is Perfect for Arts and Crafts

Since Halloween is on a weekend this year, it's the perfect chance to work on some fun and festive art projects with your kiddos.  Sara Adamchak from Art and Me says art is wonderful for children of all ages. Even babies can begin to explore art. Begin by introducing different textures, such as feathers, sand paper, etc for them to touch and collage. You can also let young children paint with pudding their first few times so if they get it in their mouth it is not a big deal!!

Sara also says that art helps children with hand eye coordination.

Some helpful advice? When talking with children about their art, never ask "what is that?" a better way to word your phrase would be, "can you tell me about your drawing/painting."  For more information, visit www.artandme.org.
