Know Before You Go: Travel Medicine Tips

The number of international travelers has increased, as have the length ad complexity of their itineraries. It's because of that fact that travel medicine is devoted to the health of travelers. It is an interdisiplinary specialty concerned with prevention of diseases and environmental risks as well as personal safety.
Doctors say, an appointment for pre-travel counseling needs to be scheduled four to six weeks before departure.
Many of the infections that can be acquired during travel are preventable by vaccination or prophylactic medications and measures, and some returning travelers might need a post-travel check up.
