Officer in Stable Condition After Shooting

(Dallas) -- A Dallas police officer remains in stable condition after he was shot in the neck Monday evening.
Police were responding to a report of a man with a gun at a North Dallas apartment complex.
According to police, the suspect began shooting at the officer before he left his squad car. They say the bullet ricocheted off his lapel microphone before striking him, likely preventing further injury.
Police say the suspect later died of self-inflicted gunshot wound.
