Republicans are questioning whether President Obama's decision to relax deportations for some illegal immigrants is a ploy to win Latino voters.

There was immediate criticism after the president announced temporary work permits with unlimited renewals for children who've been in school or the military, even though if parents came here illegally.

Team Obama insists the president's decision was not designed to get votes, but they admit Latino support may help his campaign.

Republicans insist it was a calculated move.

"This is obviously a way to divert attention from very bad news the President's had for the last three or four weeks. I think that's very clear," Senator John McCain said on Sunday's "Meet The Press".

Asked Sunday if he'd reverse the president's decision, Mitt Romney wouldn't commit.

On the campaign trail Romney continues to hammer President Obama on the economy.
