It's live from from Newark tonight as "America's Got Talent" moves into the live phase of its competition.

The top 48 acts will all be after your vote.

The survivors of last week's Las Vegas shows continue down the road to a potential million dollar
payoff tonight.

The show has been taped up until now, but starting tonight, it's live.

The show is changing live venues this season, moving from Los Angeles to Newark's Performing
Arts Center.

"East Coast people aren't jaded. They don't get a lot of TV tapings, as many as we do in LA," says judge Howie Mandel. "That excitement level and that electricity transforms the show into a much more fun, energetic, bigger show."

It's an energy the acts are ready to embrace.

The first 12 of the 48 contestants will be performing tonight.

On tomorrow night's show, some of those first dozen acts will be eliminated.

The process continues next Tuesday with the next dozen performers.
