AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police stopped a vehicle for the a stop sign violation in the 3500 block of NW 3rd.
Amarillo Officers spoke to Shad Castill and tried get him to identify himself and step from the vehicle.  Police say the suspect became evasive and would not provide correct identification, as well as Castill declined to step out of his vehicle. Officers then reached in to remove Castill, but Castill put the car in drive and sped away.   One of the officers had his arm in the window. The officer was dragged  briefly.

Officers got into vehicles to pursue but lost sight of car.
Castill's vehicle was involved in an accident at 813 S. Maryland.  It appears that Castill got out of the vehicle and left it in gear and it rolled up into a yard and struck a vehicle in the driveway there, resulting in minor damage.
Castill then fled on foot.
Amarillo Police chased after Castill on foot and arrested him when Castill circled back behind the officers and tried to get into one of the officers patrol cars to continue his escape.
Officers used a TASER to control Castill. Castill was taken into custody and booked on the multiple charges.
The injured officer was later treated and released for minor injury.
