Bank Robbery Suspect Caught

AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police along with local FBI agents arrested Donald Joseph West last night for the bank robbery on November 5 at First Bank Southwest.
At 10:30 p.m., information lead officers to a pickup truck, they believe used in the robbery, in the 1900 block of Gregory with West inside a residence. West saw the officers approaching and took off running on foot.
Police were able to apprehend West.
West was in possession of a Control Substance and was armed with a semi-auto pistol (police believe was used in the robbery). West also had a large amount of money also believed to have been taken in the robbery.
West was arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail. He has been charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Evading Arrest with Previous Conviction and a Potter County warrant for Reckless Driving. West is also charged with Aggravated Robbery in Randall County on the bank robbery at First Bank of the Southwest on 11-5-2012.
