NEW YORK -- Production has stopped on a generic version of Lipitor after glass particles were found in some of the cholesterol-lowering medication.
The medication is made by Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals in India.
The Food and Drug Administration says it is looking into the company's quality-control practices.
Other companies also make other generic forms of Lipitor are from by other companies -- so experts suggest checking with your pharmacist to see if you need to get a different product.
