As you think of starting to book those spring break and winter getaways, here's an interesting statistic to consider.  The US Travel Insurance Association estimates that travel insurance sales have tripled since 9/11, providing protection for more than 30 percent of leisure travelers.

So, should you go ahead and spend a little extra on that investment?  Samarah from Amarillo Travel Network  has some thoughts.

The best insurance offers an opportunity to cancel for any reason and that allows you to get a check back in the mail vs. just travel credit.

Why Do You Need It?

- Most health insurance does not cover when out of the country
-  Weather is considered an act of God and airlines do not have to guarantee you food vouchers, hotel or a rebooking if they must cancel due to weather
- We never think anything bad will happen to us or that we would need to cancel or change plans for any reason - but it does happen!

What Does it Cover?
-  Most people are surprised that a good insurance can cover you if your luggage is lost, stolen or delayed getting to you. A good insurance can cover if a family member passes away or you fall too ill to travel. Good insurance can also help you get rebooked in the unfortunate incident that you are traveling and need to get back home in case of an emergency.

A Travel Agent can go over the differences in insurance and guide you to which one fits your travel needs. We always strive to be with the clients for any emergency issues and also are committed to helping file any insurance claim and are with the client until we know there has been re-imbursement or compensation. Ask your Travel Professional about the different types of insurance that are available to cover your trip.
