Easter egg hunts, walking on eggs and exploding egg science demonstrations are all part of the festivities this year at Eggstravaganza!, the Don Harrington Discovery Centers annual Easter event.
The celebration, set for next Saturday, March 30, will feature an indoor egg hunt for ages 0-5 and an outdoor egg hunt for ages 6 and up with prizes stashed in every egg. Other eggciting Easter themed activities include an egg walk where guests will attempt to walk across rows of raw eggs without cracking a single shell; an outdoor egg toss; exploding eggs science demonstrations; and make and take creation stations where guests can create their own marbleized or radioactive eggs. Back by popular demand, confetti eggs will also be available for just $3.00 per dozen! Milk and cookies will be provided for guests while supplies last.
Eggstravaganza! guests will have full access to all of the Discovery Centers exhibits, Space Theater shows and live science demonstrations, including the facilitys newest additions: the Hatching the Past: Dinosaur Eggs and Babies exhibit and hit Space Theater show Tornado Alley. Due to high-demand, the Discovery Center will provide two opportunities to see Tornado Alley on March 30. Guests may choose either a 2:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. show and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Admission to the Don Harrington Discovery Center is $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for seniors, students (valid college ID required) and children age 3-17. Children under age 3 and those with a Discovery Center Membership enjoy free admission. Admission includes access to all exhibits, Space Theater shows, science demonstrations and Easter activities, excluding the Easter egg hunt. Admission to the Easter egg hunt is just $6.00 per participant.
Advance purchase tickets for the Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt are available by calling
355-9547 or in person at 1200 Streit Drive.
In observance of Easter Sunday, the Don Harrington Discovery Center will be closed March 31.
