Buffs Blasted By Wayland Baptist

Chris Nettles (1-0) picked
up the win for the Pioneers while Brandon Head (0-1) took the loss for the
Buffs, who fall to 7-24 on the season.
Wayland jumped out to a
five-run lead after the first two innings, with Todd Jeffers driving in three
runs in the top of the first with his first of three home runs on the day. The
Pioneers bats stayed hot throughout the afternoon, scoring five runs in the
third, and three in the fifth, sixth, and seventh frames.
WT cut into the Pioneer
lead in the top of the third as Kent Wright led the inning off with a double to
right center and was able to score on a two-out single by shortstop Darby
Walker. The Buffs scored two more runs on a fielding error in the outfield,
cutting the score to 10-3.
