Teacher of the Week: Sherry Hammons

    This weeks Teacher of the Week has been making a difference in the classroom for more than 20-years.  Sherry Hammons is a teacher at Windsor Elementary, and says she loves what she does.
    Lauren Daily wrote in and nominated her.  Here's what Lauren had to say, "She has been a huge influence in my life and has made the trials and tribulations of TAKS testing fun.  I could not have made it without her!"
    Mrs. Hammons has spent the last 18 years at Windsor.  When we surprised her with the award today she smiled when she talked about the letter Lauren wrote, "It touches my heart to know that I have an influence on children."
    Lauren's letter put the finishing touches on 36 weeks of awards.  Throughout the school year we honor a special teacher every Monday.  Even though this is our season finale, we'll be right back at it again starting in September.
