Federal Aid Available for Unemployed Workers Affected by Tornadoes

EASTERN NEW MEXICO - New Mexico workers who lost their job as a result of the March tornados could be eligible to receive federal help.

Starting Saturday April 7 and through May 7, the New Mexico Department of Labor is accepting acpplications for disaster unemployment assistance. You may qualify if you've stopped working as a result of the tornados in Curry and Quay counties.

Applicants should head to the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center that will open on Monday April 9. It'll be in Clovis, inside the Lincoln Jackson Elementary Gymnasium. The address is 206 Alphon. FEMA representatives will be available from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.
