AMARILLO -- An arrest has been made in the cities latest homicide.
The Potter-Randall Special Crimes Unit made the arrest last night.
"Last night at about nine-thirty we officially arrested Dewayne Paul Hindman, hes a white male nineteen, for the murder of Huong Rowlett," says Lieutenant Gary Trupe with the Potter-Randall Special Crimes Unit.
It was April first when Trupe says Rowlett was stabbed to death by Hindman at the B & B Convenience Store in southeast Amarillo.
More than two hundred pieces of evidence were processed but only one proved as a link.
"We were able to lift fingerprints from that item and from those fingerprints we placed those into A.F.I.S. and A.F.I.S. came back with the name Mister Hindman," says Trupe.
"Im pleased, Im impressed, Im glad that everybody came forward and helped out," says Lyle Link he knew Rowlett for fifteen years.
Trupe says Hindman showed remorse only once, and that moment came when he realized he would pay for his alleged crime.
"Everybodys different, theres some threshold that at some point there willing to cross over and commit murder," say Trupe about Hindman.
Along with that one piece of evidence that had Hindmans prints on it.
Trupe says they also found bloody clothes.
Still no motive has been determined.
This is the first business murder Amarillo has seen in several years.
Hindman is a former Amarillo High Student.
Still no weapon has been recovered and a five hundred thousand dollar bond has been set.
Hes facing capital murder charges.
