First Amarillo Area Scholastic Chess Championship
Saturday, February 11, 2012
Deadline to Pre-Register: Thursday, February 9, 2012
Location: Ascension Academy Cafetorium, 9301 Ascension Parkway, Amarillo, TX
Children (K-12) are invited to register to play on February 11th in this all-day USCF-rated chess tournament. Those who are non-USCF members are still encouraged to attend and play! Information will be available on the benefits of USCF Membership. USCF Membership forms WILL NOT be processed at the tournament. You may join USCF prior to the tournament online at uschess.org, but this is NOT mandatory. Please feel free to bring information about your own Chess Club or tournaments to share with those in attendance. The score sheets and some chessboards, pieces and clocks will be provided. Please bring your own tournament chess sets and clocks if you have them. This is not required, but helpful.
To register, email pdavis120@gmail.com by Thursday, February 9, 2012 and bring your registration fee with you to the tournament. $8 pre-registration fee per player; $10 at the door (cash only at door). Because organizers encourage everyone to come and play, if the registration fee is a burden, contact pdavis120@gmail.com and they will arrange a scholarship for that student. Groups of three or more from one club will receive a discount of $1 per player.
