(Washington, DC) -- Google is getting some good news today about one of its acquisitions.
The U.S. Justice Department is approving Google's purchase of Motorola Mobility.
The twelve-point-five-billion dollar deal has been pending since last summer.
Justice Department officials investigating anti-trust issues concluded the deal is "unlikely to substantially lessen competition." Google also got approval for the acquisition from European authorities.
Some analysts believe Google bought Motorola for its 17-thousand patents.
This, to help protect Google's Android Operating System.
