AMARILLO -- On February 15, at about 6:15 a.m., a 71-year-old Amarillo man was robbed near the south entrance of the United Market at 2530 S. Georgia.

The robbery victim told officers that before he was robbed, the suspects vehicle had been following him closely, acting erratically, as he drove southbound on Georgia.  He drove to the store and parked on the south side of the building.  The suspects followed him into the lot.  As the victim stepped out of his car and two or possibly three suspect came from the vehicle that had been following him. They assaulted him by striking him with their hands and kicking him.  They took his wallet, car keys, and garage door opener.  The suspects then left eastbound on SW 26th Avenue in small SUV that appears to be tan or gold over gray in color.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for injuries to his hands, face, and head.  He was treated and released.

Investigators have released this photograph from video surveillance of the suspects vehicle.   If you saw or have any information about this robbery, call the Amarillo Police Department or call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
