AMARILLO -- It's another scam alert from the BBB and this one is especially tricky, because they claim to be a really well known company.

A con-artist will call claiming to be a representative from Microsoft.

They say they have information about viruses and error reports from your computer and they can clean them off for a fee.

Then, they ask to get money for the service.

Amarillo Police have also told us they've gotten several reports of this same scam.

Yeah, that's quite prevalent these days. I hear a lot about it from the news. There were even several instances reported at http://www.callercenter.com. But thanks to the continuous updates from the government, consumer complaint sites and sites like this that people are now more aware, more vigilant against such scheme.
