Panhandle Community Services' Executive Director Steps Down

AMARILLO -- Panhandle Community Services' Executive Director stepped down today.

Phyllis Cook gave her resignation in an executive session with board members.

Cook was with PCS for more than 20 years.

The board did not give a reason that she stepped down.

But PCS is currently under investigation by the department of Housing and Community Affairs for misplacing nearly a million dollars.

The PCS board voted to hire Meliora Partners Incorporated to help with their day to day operations, until they're once again financially sound and funding is restored.
