Fatal wreck on I-27 in Swisher County

SWISHER COUNTY -- Sunday morning, A 21-year-old driver from Wichita, Kansas was driving southbound on I-27 about 6 miles north of Tulia.
DPS says the vehicle veered onto the shoulder of I-27 for an unknown reason. The driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to enter the median in a side skid. The vehicle overturned several times ejecting the front and rear passengers.
The driver and front passenger were sent to Swisher Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. An infant male in the rear seat who was strapped into an infant car seat was uninjured in the crash.
The rear passenger, Rebecca Calderon Gomez, was transported to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Mrs. Moreno was pronounced dead at 9:12 a.m. at Covenant Hospital.
None of the adult occupants were wearing the safety belts in the vehicle.
