Two Grass Fires Over Weekend

AMARILLO - Fire crews responded to a small grass fire just north of the airport near Folsom.
The fire burned about 200 feet of land, and crews put it out quickly.
According to responders on scene, they're not sure what caused the fire.
This comes after a fire started yesterday just off I-40, most likely due to a cigarette butt.
With the continuing heat and the holiday on Wednesday, it's time to brush up on fire safety.
Local Red Cross representatives recommend you make a plan with your family in case of a fire, have a water source outside your home, and keep household items on hand that could fight small fires, like rakes, shovels and buckets.
