AMARILLO -- People for and against the proposed ban on cell phone use while driving sounded off at Amarillo City Hall, today.
This is the second time Commissioners have held a public forum about this topic.
The original ordinance proposed was just for texting while driving, but now they're considering a full ban on any cell phone use while you're behind the wheel.
Traffic Safety Committee Member DJ Stubben said, "We had a lot of response today and we did last week. People who are really interested in this topic, both pro and con, and it's important to hear from people, not just have them sit behind their computers, so they came out, they did a good job."
The City Commission is scheduled to take the first of two votes on the issue next week.
