Public Service Conference

AMARILLO --- Bennett Sandlin, executive director of the Texas Municipal League, will be the keynote speaker when West Texas A&M University hosts the Honorable Debra A. McCartt Conference in Public Service on Friday, Oct. 12 on the WTAMU campus. Registration begins at 11 a.m. at the Panhandle-Plains Historical
Museum, followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. and Sandlins presentation at
noon. Breakout sessions will run from 1:15-4 p.m. on topics ranging from using
social media in municipal government to innovative community solutions.
McCartt served as an Amarillo city commissioner from 2001-2005 and as mayor from 2005-2011, and the professorship recognizes her leadership and commitment to excellence in public service and public administration.
