Chemical Spill at an Amarillo Home

AMARILLO - Around 10 people were evacuated today in Amarillo. According to officials, a drum of chromic acid was spilled at 2823 Armand. Someone was trying to move about 35 gallons of the acid when it tipped over. When it did, the acid spilled down the driveway into the gutter. Officials evacuated 10 people, two of those went to the hospital with minor problems. Chromic acid is used in ceramic glazes and colored glass. It can also be used to clean glassware.
