Kids Have Fun at KinderKonzertz

AMARILLO -- Tuba's trumpets and tambourines filled the Performing Arts Center, as Panhandle kids learned about the symphony from the big man himself.

KinderKonzertz has been an Amarillo Christmas tradition for decades, but no-one's quite sure of it's origin.

Susan White, Amarillo Little Theatre Executive Director

"We actually don't have a good number of years that the kinder-concerts have been going on. We know it's happened for more than 45 years," Susan White, Executive Director of Amarillo Little Theatre said. "Our trusty old Eddy Ballin who's100 years old doesn't actually remember a time when the amarillo symphony didn't have kiddy concerts. It's a tradition we won't be ending soon."

Though kids enjoyed Santa's rendition of jingle bells, the event's goal is to teach panhandle students the value of music.
