Amarillo -- Last year, Shilah Phillips made history when she was crowned Miss Texas, and today she made her way to the Panhandle. Cal Farleys Boys Ranch invited her to share her message to "never give up" with young people in our area. Phillips is the first African-American to hold the Miss Texas title and she was the first runner-up for Miss America. Shes also a former American Idol contestant.
