Amarillo National Bank to Open Branch in Lubbock

AMARILLO -- Amarillo National Bank will open a Lubbock branch under the name American National Bank before the end of the year.
"We're thrilled to finally open a branch in Lubbock," said William Ware, Senior Vice President of Amarillo National Bank. " We've had customers in Lubbock for years and timing is right for our family. What sets us apart is that we are 100 percent family-owned, which allows us to focus on the customer, not the shareholders."
The new branch will work under the name American National Bank. After a charter application in early 2013, the bank hopes to stand on its own if approved. American National would be the first bank to garner a nationwide charter since 2008.
"We understand good customer service and want to bring that to the Lubbock Community", said Chuck Parr, Branch Manager for American National Bank. "We're here to make it simple. Relationships are important to us because we'll be here for the long haul."
American National will operate as a retail bank in southwest Lubbock - where the city continues to grow - and will offer mortgages, consumer loans, savings accounts, CDs and other retail banking products.
