Two Die in Wreck on US 87/287

AMARILLO -- A two-vehicle wreck around 11:12 a.m. Tuesday killed both drivers.
DPS says 36-year-old Melissa Flores of Dumas was traveling south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 87/287 in a car. 27-year-old A.J. Swope was traveling north in the northbound lanes in a pickup.
The vehicles hit head on in the inside lane.
The pickup caught fire and was fully engulfed. Potter County Fire Department responded to the scene to put out the fire.
Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
