AMARILLO -- Every 72 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimers, and around 20,000 people in the Panhandle have the disease.
Friday, the Alzheimers Association had their monthly lunch.
They talked about subjects that may be a concern for families that have a loved one with the disease.
"To see someone that youve been with start losing their memory and cant remember and then read about what might or might not happen as the disease progresses -- very scary," said Ken Branum with the Alzheimers Association.
The group has their lunch on the third Friday of each month.
