Amarillo ISD School Board Incumbent Announces Run for Re-election

AMARILLO -- Renee McCown announced that she will run for re-election to retain a seat on the Amarillo Independent School Board.
She says, "I am running for another term because I fully understand the importance of providing our youth with a competitive education that prepares them for college and beyond. These children, these students, are the future of our community and our nation. I am a mother of school children and I understand the value of an excellent public education. All of the children in Amarillo deserve to receive meaningful course work and not endless exams. I support an accountability system that emphasizes actual learning, not teaching to a test."
