Minimum Wage Increase

Amarillo -- Your summer job could soon bring in a little more cash. Thats because minimum wage is going up to $7.25 an hour within the next two years. Local managers say they think the hike will help them attract quality employees. The increase will take place in phases. Next month it goes up to $5.85, then to $6.55 next summer and finally, $7.25 an hour summer 2009. President Bush signed the bill May 25th.
