CLOVIS -- The Clovis Police Department arrested Jeremy R. Palmer, 27, on Thursday for the theft of the Martin Luther King Memorial Plaque that was taken from Potter Park.
Patrol Officers received information that the plaque had been grounded down, the facial image had been removed and the plaque was cut into three pieces.
The investigation led to the Clovis Recycling company. The company helped identify Palmer who claimed ownership of the metals.
Palmer was taken to the Curry County Adult Detention Center on the charges of Larceny and Possession of Stolen Property. Palmer's bond is set at $20,000.

Comments

Palmer should be forced to pay for the damage and to stand by and watch the plaque being restored and remounted. He should then go on to serve his time in jail to contemplate his stupidity.
